About our DEXA service

Southern Ultrasound was established to provide Central Otago and Southland with access to expert diagnostic imaging in a welcoming, patient-centred environment. Our DEXA service extends that care into bone density and body composition scanning.

Our equipment

We use Philips ultrasound systems and a GE DEXA scanner to support high-quality imaging and diagnostic accuracy. Our equipment is serviced regularly and maintained to New Zealand clinical standards.

• Medical Radiation Technologist Board (MRTB).
• Australian Sonographers Association (ASA).
• New Zealand Institute of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NZIMRT).
